With 20 years supporting boards, universities, and Jewish communal organizations, I help leaders build stronger governance cultures and clearer communication strategies.

I’m Alyssa Schiffman, Founder of BoardVision Consulting LLC. For more than 20 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of boards and executives in higher education, Jewish community organizations, and nonprofits of all sizes.
In every role, I’ve helped boards and leaders gain clarity, build trust, and move forward with confidence. Through BoardVision, I bring that same expertise to nonprofits and foundations looking to strengthen their governance culture and elevate executive communications.
As Chief Mission Officer at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, I aligned governance, communications, and strategy during a pivotal leadership transition. Before that, I guided trustees as Secretary to the Board of Trustees at Barnard College and in senior governance roles at DePaul University.
I’ve seen firsthand how much stronger nonprofits become when boards are engaged and leaders communicate with clarity. Good governance and authentic storytelling don’t just check boxes — they build trust, alignment, and the confidence to make real impact. They turn routine meetings into opportunities for vision and strategy. And they give leaders and trustees alike the tools to focus less on process and more on mission.
My work with boards and leaders delivers immediate impact, with benefits that continue to grow over time.
